Ely to Austin (Nevada)

Loneliest Road.... mmmmm we saw at least 10 cars!!! Almost a traffic jam!!!

Stopped at Eureka - was it really worth stopping ??? Well we took a few pics of 'historic' downtown...

Onward to Austin - what a surprise - another strange place, BUT we found LOCAL people and an excellent local bar where we met some really interesting people....

Our motel advertised an Ocktobefest at the local 'pub' it was BRILLIANT all the locals - grandad Cantrell was there a descendant of Cantrell Raiders!!!

A few local drunks and the bartender was hilarious!!! We are going for breakfast in his other place of employment in the morning!!

The sort of place you hope to find - really enjoyed ourselves chatting to the locals - ie met a gold miner - archeologist - cattle rancher - wicked place, everyone knew everyone else Plus we met Rod Stuarts chef!!!!

The evening was mind blowing - chatting about horses - cows and cocktails!!!!! Hilarious - but the food was amazing and FREE bratwurst, sauerkraut, potatoe salad and German stew all cooked by a German lady yummmmyyyyy

I foolishly asked two people why they had moved here and they said they were born here!!!! Oooops....... It is so far from anywhere ....

They told us they go 115 miles to go to local supermarket !!!!!!! Which is 230 miles round trip for food!!!

Unbelievable but true.. Joel the barman said he had to go to shops before he opened the bar!!!

Plus he will be at work in the morning at the restaurant serving breakfast!!!

Pic of sat nav showing how far before we make a turn!!!

Have more pics from my itouch but have to work out how to put on blog...

Gas prices are high here!! But you can buy a box of ammo for $7.99!!!!
